The Pocono Mountain Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America will meet in the Hughes Community Room at the Stroud Mansion Museum and Library, on Friday, October 23, at 1:30 pm, and the public is invited to attend.

The event will include a presentation by Monroe County Historical Association member Marie Lohman, "Embroidered Samplers: Celebrating America 250." Attendees will explore the history of samplers, the variety of forms they take, techniques for creating and caring for them, and their value. The program will also feature a display of samplers stitched by members of the EGA, along with selected examples from the museum’s collection.

Attendees will also be able to view the current special exhibit, “Stars and Stitches Forever” quilt challenge as part of the America 250 celebration.

The “Embroidered Samplers: Celebrating America 250” program is open to the public and free to attend.
