WORKSHOPS FOR TEACHERS
All Monroe County Historical Association programs for teachers and students are based on state and national academic standards and emphasize:
  • Use of primary sources in lessons
  • Interdisciplinary instructional approaches
  • Differentiated instruction
  • Higher level thinking skills
The MCHA Education Committee works with school districts to design workshops to meet their specific needs for professional development, using the resources of the Monroe County Historical Association.

Here are just some of the workshops for educators we have offered:

  • Elections and Voting in Monroe County
  • Primary Sources in the Elementary Classroom

NOTE: The first floor of Stroud Mansion is wheelchair accessible through a ramp at the Ninth Street entrance. Other floors in the historic building are not wheelchair accessible.
