All Monroe County Historical Association programs for teachers and students are based on state and national academic standards and emphasize:
  • Use of primary sources in lessons
  • Interdisciplinary instructional approaches
  • Differentiated instruction
  • Higher lever thinking skills
The MCHA Education Committee works with school districts to design workshops to meet their specific needs for professional development, using the resources of the Monroe County Historical Association.

Workshops for educators offered in the past:
  • Fraktur – Unique Pennsylvania German art (shown in photo)
  • One Brush Stroke – Abraham Lincoln
  • Elections and Voting in Monroe County
  • Primary Sources in the Elementary Classroom
The Monroe County Historical Association is an approved Pennsylvania Act 48 continuing education credit provider.

Workshops are offered at the Stroud Mansion for small groups of 10 to 25 teachers. Workshops are also offered at school district locations.

WORKSHOP FEES: Half day: $350 | Full day: $700
